Opened in 2021, the Veterans Gardens at the Palisades Rec Center has provided the community with a fun and inviting new space to come together. The park consists of three bocce courts, a new picnic area, and 5 'living room in the park' alcoves. Funded 100% by Palisadians, Veterans Gardens honors all those who courageously fought for their neighbors and country. So many of our community members, young and old, have enjoyed participating in both Chess and Bocce Leagues, as well as the "Happy Hour" fitness club.

The mission of Palisades Bocce Club is to use the social sport of bocce to create a sense of belonging and a joy of community for Palisadians of all ages — by creating absolute best-of-class leagues and events.

We place great value on the art and integrity of creating experiences that will stand the test of time.  We know how hard it is, and yet how rewarding it is — to build solid foundations for leagues and events that touch so many lives.

We have a number of leagues in the hopper; catering to specific ages and groupings of Palisadians.

Our very own Sue Kohl participates in the Sunset Bocce League every Thursday evening with her neighbors on Iliff in the Alphabet Streets. The "I Liff Bocce" teammates are a force to be reckoned with! Last year they had over 300 Palisadians join the league and interest continues to grow.

You can visit the Veterans Gardens website for information on upcoming events and more.
